If you desire to live a rich life,then achieving purpose is vital.God has a good plan for us as He said In Jeremiah 29:11.His plan is made manifest through the discovery of your reason for being here on earth.If you are ignorant of this one thing,I challenge you today to get to work.Seek God so He will show you.Look deep at your gifts,passions and the things you do effortlessly;they may be an indication to your purpose.

If you are trying to discover or already know and are walking in your calling,I am sure you have or will come across people I call ‘negative critics’.They always have something to say about your dream and the things you’re striving hard to achieve. They tell you how impossible it is for people of your nature, background, race or sex to become great. Most with avenues to help you excel won’t give you room to express your gifts and talents.They don’t even want to know or see what you are capable of because they believe you have ‘no name’ or are just an ‘unknown’.Some folks won’t believe in you until God exalts you.Then,they will proudly shout everywhere they are ‘family and friends.’

I remember when I came to London to stay.I was much younger than I am now and didn’t have as much wisdom as God’s endowed me with today.With mum and dad not so close-by,I had to grow up fast lest I got exploited by people.As I went to school,I also looked for part-time work in certain areas.People I thought believed in me discouraged me.They said folks of my colour hardly get the kind of jobs I was applying for.That I should go for cleaning or do a quick care assistant course;that beggars had no choice.LOL…As much as I knew,I wasn’t a beggar;I’ve never been and never will! 🙂 I know where I come from.I know what I carry inside and above all,I know the One whom I serve.Not that those jobs are bad.My French people say ‘Il n’ya pas de sauts métiers.’ There is nothing as dumb work.Someone must do the work and I hold in high esteem those who do things I dread to do.I had already told God what I wanted and didn’t want to do.Did you know that God listens to us when we tell him stuff ? He gives us our desire if it’s in our best interest.

In spite of what they said,I didn’t give up.I continued,searched for long,did some odd jobs young people do in between school until I found myself touching other young people’s lives at my local council whilst earning a decent wage too.Now,if I had rested on the limitations they had made me see ,I would have fulfilled their ambition for me and not God’s plan.

Jesus was despised and rejected by His own. Some saw His value whilst some thought He was only a carpenter’s son. Who would have believed? ‘Who would have thought God’s saving power would look like this? ….a scrawny seedling, a scrubby plant in a parched field….He was looked down on and passed over… One look at him and people turned away. We looked down on him, thought he was scum. But the fact is, it was our pains he carried—our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us….He took the punishment, and that made us whole. Through his bruises we get healed.’’ You can read the whole chapter in Isaiah 53,the Message version for better understanding.

He was even beaten, tortured, but he didn’t say a word. Like a lamb taken to be slaughtered and like a sheep being sheared, he took it all in silence. He didn’t give up. He fulfilled His purpose and today,He’s the most sought-after man in the universe!He continues to build lives! It’s what God had in mind all along,to crush him with pain.The plan was that he give himself as an offering for sin so that he’d see life come from it—life, life, and more life.And God’s plan will deeply prosper through him.

If you have a dream and vision, expect a lot of discouragement, rejection, denial and negative criticism.Expect people who will treat you like dirt and make you believe you cannot.Expect those who will reject you because they regard you as a burden in their lives.When you are better positioned and know how to treat them,they won’t have nothing on you.I‘ve been there and I know just how it feels.Don’t let a man’s say or do deter you from living your best. Every great man started from the ground where solid foundations are built. A plant grows from the root before it becomes a tree bearing fruits. A building has scaffoldings around and is hidden from proper view until it is done with. Where you are may be a place of preparation. God’s getting you ready for the big task ahead. Don’t grow weary. You’ve been pregnant too long to want to abort now. Your conception was for a reason; you must give birth. They say,they say,they say!C’mon,they will always say.They will always talk.But,wait a minute!Who are they anyway?Who cares what ‘they’ say if it does not align itself with what the Master says?

Regain your passion.Stick with people who believe you can.Wave goodbye to those who don’t.My Pastor,Matthew Ashimolowo will say,”delete their numbers from your phone.” Keep working.Keep striving.Keep your fire burning.Aim for higher grounds.Scream no limits!No boundaries! How are you going to fly if you don’t spread your wings?
